The Department of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University together with the Kazakhstan Association of Allergists and Clinical Immunologists under the patronage of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) successfully held a scientific and practical conference "XXIV Kazakhstan National International Congress "Asthma and Allergy"" on April 11-12, 2024 in Almaty.
The congress became an important event in the field of allergology and clinical immunology, bringing together leading experts from around the world and scientists from Kazakhstan
The President of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, Professor Stefano Del Giacco from Italy gave the welcoming speech. He noted the importance of international exchange of experience and new achievements in the field of diagnostics and treatment of allergic diseases.
With an excellent introductory lecture "Biological drugs and not only: the future in the treatment of asthma" Stefano Del Giacco presented the role of biological drugs in the treatment of various allergic diseases, such as allergic rhinitis, bronchial asthma and eczema. The President of EAACI dwelt in detail on modern achievements in the field of biological therapy, which, according to the professor, represents the future in the treatment of allergies and asthma.
A very informative report was given by leading professor from Lithuania Brigita Gradauskiene, Director of the Department of Immunology and Allergology of the University of Lithuania on the topic of "Primary humoral immunodeficiencies".
The main speaker from Turkey, Professor Ümit Murat Şahiner, member of the board of the Turkish National Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, gave a very lively, interactive lecture "Immunotherapy with venom allergens - decision making in difficult cases" highlighting important aspects of the treatment of allergic diseases caused by insect bites and the role of allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT) in solving these problems.
Leading scientist, professor from Austria (Medical University of Vienna) Rudolf Valenta, the founder of molecular allergology, in his speech on the topic "Mechanisms of Allergy" presented an in-depth and detailed understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms of allergic reactions. The report was met with great interest, as it allowed the conference participants to gain a deeper understanding of the molecular and cellular basis of allergy, which is the key to the development of new methods for diagnosing and treating allergic diseases.
On the second day, April 12, leading scientists of the EAACI professors Stefano Del Giacco, Brigita Gradauskiene, Ümit Murat Şahiner and Rudolf Valenta spoke to students, residents, young scientists and teachers of the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov in the Hall of Fame.
It was a very lively and warm meeting. There were many questions, detailed answers from the speakers, and the meeting ended with a group photo with the students.
Head of the Department of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Zh. Ispayeva made a presentation on the topic "Allergic rhinitis. Updated Protocol for Allergic Rhinitis - 2024". As the head of the working group, Zh. Ispayeva presented in detail all the updates and changes in the protocol for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, taking into account new world scientific data.
Kovzel E.F. - MD, Head of the Department of Clinical Immunology, Allergology, Diagnostic Center, CF "UMC" made a report on the topic "Treatment of severe bronchial asthma based on modern concepts".
Morenko M.A. Head of the Department of Children's Diseases with a course in allergology, NJSC "MUA", MD, Professor, reported at a very high level "Evolution of the microbiome and its impact on the host's immune system: challenges and opportunities for therapy".
Tusupbekova G.M. Head of the allergy center of the Hospital for the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, PhD, gave an excellent report on the topic "Asthma is heterogeneous! Are all asthma phenotypes under control?".
Batyrbaeva A.Zh., Head of the Republican Allergology Center at the JSC "Research Institute of Cardiology and internal diseases" reported "Clinical case with hereditary angioedema in the city of Tekeli".
Karabaeva Zh.M. Chief freelance allergist of the Dzhambul region reported "Clinical case with hereditary angioedema in the city of Taraz. Implementation of innovative therapy for hereditary angioedema".
Young scientists and residents also spoke. The commission, represented by the leading speakers of the EAACI, assessed the high level of the conference.
