The annual Kazakhstan National Congress was held with a great full house.
Department of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU together with the Kazakhstan Association of Allergists and Clinical Immunologists under the patronage of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) successfully held a scientific-practical conference "XXV Kazakhstan National International Congress "Asthma and Allergy" on April 24-25, 2025 in Almaty.
The Congress has become an important event in the field of allergology and clinical immunology, bringing together leading specialists from all over the world and scientists from Kazakhstan.
The welcoming speech was delivered by the representative of the European Academy of Allergists and Clinical Immunologists Prof. Asli Akkor from Turkey, who noted the importance of international exchange of experience and new achievements in the field of diagnostics and treatment of allergic diseases.
The main speaker from Turkey, Prof. Asli Akkor, Chairperson of NAIS EAACI, made a very interesting report on "Current and new methods of treatment of hereditary angioedema". She gave a very lively, interactive lecture.
Head of the Department of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Zhanat Ispaeva made a report on "New EAACI 2024 Recommendations: Ecology. Treatment of allergic rhinitis and asthma". As the head of the working group Zhanat Ispayeva presented in detail all the updates and changes in the protocol for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and asthma taking into account the new world scientific data.
Professor from Ukraine, E.V. Sharikadze presented a report on the topic of "Features of LTP syndrome in patients with respiratory manifestations". The report was met with great interest, as it allowed the conference participants to gain a deeper understanding of the molecular and cellular basis of allergy, which is key to the development of new methods of diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases.
The representative from Ukraine Yuriev S.D. MD, PhD made a presentation on "Tablet-based allergen-specific immunotherapy. 80 years of experience in allergy treatment worldwide".
Speeches of young employees of the Department of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of
S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU in English aroused great interest among European colleagues. Batyrbaeva A.Zh. - doctoral student of the department with the report "Hereditary angioedema. Diagnosis and treatment"; Sarsenbaeva A.Zh. - assistant professor with the theme "Artificial intelligence in the diagnosis and personalized treatment of atopic dermatitis: world practice and prospects in Kazakhstan", Bekmagambetova R.B. - lecturer of the department with the report on the theme: "Prospects of introduction of personalized therapy in patients with bronchial asthma", Rysmakhanova K.N. - assistant of the department with the theme "Analysis of cases of acute toxic-allergic reaction in the hospital of Almaty. Recommendations on drug allergy: Latest updates (2023)".
On the second day on April 25, an excellent lecture was given by Lawrence M. DuBuske, a leading professor from the University of Washington, "Alarmins in Asthma: Therapeutic Significance," who presented the role of alarmins in the development of asthma with marked Th2 inflammation. The Director of the Immunology Research Institute noted that a number of clinical trials are underway, including those using tezepelumab and TSLP in addition to monoclonal antibodies against IL-33, IL-25 that are under development.
Buza D.V. MD, PhD, chief supernumerary allergologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus shared the experience of AIT application in children in the Republic of Belarus.
Our domestic speakers also spoke. All issues of practical allergology were covered.
Tusupbekova G. M. Candidate of medical sciences, PhD. Head of the Allergy Center of the Hospital of the UD of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented reports on "Potential markers of response to treatment in patients with CSC. Evaluation of the efficacy of antihistamines, omalizumab and cyclosporine"; "Epidermal necrolysis, treatment, prognosis and long-term consequences".
Morenko M.A. MD, PhD, Professor "Astana Medical University" presented an interesting report on the topic: "Atopy and skin: modern approaches to treatment and prevention".
Kovzel E.F. MD, PhD made two presentations on topical topics: "Acute and chronic urticaria in the practice of an allergist-immunologist. New recommendations and standard practice" and "Allergy to cow's milk proteins".
Karabayeva Zh. M. Head of consultative-diagnostic department of GMB of Taraz city. Chief supernumerary allergologist of Zhambyl region. The report was on the topic: "Practical issues on routing of patients with severe forms of bronchial asthma. Clinical case".
Abilkasimova G.E. Senior lecturer of the Department of Dermatovenerology, KRMU. Director of Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology Scientific and Practical Center of Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology, Almaty. "Allergodermatoses possibilities of external therapy".
It has become a great tradition to conclude the congress within the walls of our alma mater S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh Medical University. This year, in the Hall of Fame of KazNMU, an assembly lecture was given by Professor Constantinos Pitsios on the topic "Eosinophilic esophagitis in focus: Diagnostic tools and ways of treatment".
EAACI representatives Prof. Asli Akkor, Constantinos Pitsios, gave a wonderful welcome speech from EAACI, which caused a lively response, interest of our students and young scientists present, there were many questions.
This meeting ended with the fact that for the first time representatives of Kazakhstan were chosen in the person of doctoral student Batyrbaeva A.Zh. to be a moderator at the section of young scientists in Glasgow at the EAACI 2025 Congress. This is a great success for our country!
Residents of the Department of Allergology and Clinical Immunology presented their scientific works in the form of a poster session. The commission represented by EACCI representatives highly appreciated the level of their posters and invited the 1st place winner to participate in the upcoming EACCI 2026 Congress.
